Cam-Uro-Onc Biorepository

Central England Haemato-Oncology Research Bank

The Central England Haemato-Oncology Research Bank (CEHRB) stores excess material from oncology samples referred for diagnostic testing and disease monitoring at the West Midlands Regional Genetics Laboratory. We are able to offer research material from all classifications of neoplastic haematological disorders including those that are rare.

The Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group  Tissue Bank

The Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG) Tissue Bank collects tissue and blood samples of childhood tumour types. Tissue samples (tumour and normal) are available in FFPE or frozen formats, whole blood and DNA. Samples have supportive clinical and pathology details as well as patient outcome data.

KCL Haemato-Oncology Tissue Bank

Biospecimens (tissues, tissue products and body fluids) from adult patients with haematological dyscrasias: mainly myeloid disorders (AML, AA, CML, MDS, MPD, PNH), but some lymphoid disorders (CLL, Myeloma) are also represented and there are plans to bank lymphoma in the future.

King’s Health Partners Cancer Biobank



Cancer and normal tissue in FFPE and frozen format and blood from patients diagnosed with a variety of malignancies. This includes the breast biobank (established 1975) which has 9000 primary cancer samples. Samples are available in different formats including frozen or FFPE sections,  tissue microarrays, DNA, RNA, plasma and serum. All samples have associated donor clinico-pathological data.

The Leeds Multidisciplinary RTB stores tissue and fluid samples from multiple disease areas, including renal, urothelial, ovarian, colorectal and neurological cancers, along with appropriate benign and healthy controls.

Liverpool Tissue Bank

The LTB collects tumour and associated non-involved tissue from a wide variety of surgical sites. Our tissue samples are stored as fresh frozen and FFPE blocks. We also have plasma, serum, DNA, RNA and protein available, and TMAs from a variety of tissue types. All cases have histopathology reports, clinical information and, where possible, follow-up data.

Manchester BRC Biobank

The BRC Biobank is a centralised resource for the acquisition, processing and storage of human biological samples at Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We offer bespoke collection of tissues or access to our large archive of stored oncology samples. NHS Glasgow and Greater Clyde (NHSGGC) Bio-repository

The main objective of the NHSGGC Bio-repository is to help facilitate medical research by streamlining the access to tissue and associated clinical data. This involves not only successful acquisition and curation of samples, it involves supporting activity to ensure our patients are given the opportunity to donate surplus tissue for research, increasing the scope of surplus tissue made available for research i.e. surplus blood and other body fluids, streamlining the access process for research end users and making best use of existing and developing NHS IT infrastructure to support and continually develop our processes and procedures.

We collect samples from patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia entering national clinical trials. PBMCs, plasma, serum and germline DNA are collected at baseline for all patients, and sequential samples are collected depending on the trial for use in translational research.
